Pigment foil is a kind of foil that contains metallic powder in white, black and other colors. About Hot Stamping Foil

Hot stamping and pigment foils are made up of several layers. These include a polyester carrier, a release layer, a number of lacquer, image and metal layers, and an outer adhesive sizing layer. During the hot foil stamping process a heated die forces the foil against the substrate, which is supported by a counter plate or counter cylinder. A combination of this pressure and the activation of the adhesive sizing makes the foil attach itself to the substrate, a process that is aided by the melting of the release layer. The dies used in hot foil stamping are predominantly made from brass and are produced by etching or by engraving using hand work or CNC systems.

Various patterns are provided to customers for color selection and confirmation. To facilitate customers to see the gold-stamping effect in the design stage, long and narrow patterns are configured with cutting-lines.

Hot stamping is the process that applies thermal bonding technique to transfer permanent adhesion of foil to target surface (for instance, security paper, cardboard, PET, PVC, leather). Generally, hot stamping foil is used as decorative sheet. Unlike ordinary hot stamping foil, holographic hot stamping foil is showed with film holographic vivid effect. Thus, it is widely applied on cosmetic, alcohol, cigarette packaging and shopping bag etc. Furthermore, holographic hot stamping foil with customized logo patter design can meet anti-counterfeiting requirement, which is usually used on tickets, documents, certificates, pharmaceutical box, and so on.
